Mackay Hospital and Health Service (MHHS), together with Northern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN) invite health professionals to a 90-minute interactive webinar.

Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) is a major health and welfare issue in Australia, occurring across all socioeconomic and demographic groups, predominantly affecting women and children.

Presented by:

  • Mackay Base Hospital Domestic and Family Violence Workforce Specialist / Social Worker Advanced Sandi Winner.
  • Mount Isa Hospital Director of Emergency Medical Training and Senior Medical Officer Dr Julia De Boos.

This webinar will provide participants with:

  • Up-to-date information on the health effects of domestic and family violence, including non-lethal strangulation and best practice recommendations for medical professionals around these presentations
  • Current legislation and imminent changes in relation to coercive control
