Each event, presented by Healthcare Business Solutions Lead Consultant Laura Terry, provided participants with essential information, resources, and the tools to build capabilities and improve knowledge around preparing and submitting competitive, compliant funding applications.
NQPHN provided this training to support practices in applying for one-off grants available to general practice to invest in innovation, training, and equipment as part of the Australian Government's Strengthening Medicare – General Practice (GP) Grants Program.
NQPHN recognises the value of providing tender and grant application writing education and support. Grants provide valuable resources for primary care providers to perform projects or provide services they otherwise would not be able to. It is important to remember; however, that grants are competitive, and it takes time and preparation to find the right tenders and grant opportunities, plan a project, and write the application.
Participants, which included primary care practice managers and owners, shared how invaluable the presentation was. Read their praises below:
- “Excellent presentation with clear, usable information. Very grateful to Laura and Ruth for sharing their knowledge and time.” - Birdwing Therapies Practice Manager Lauren Russo
- “Very well organised presentation. Great opportunity to learn more about grants.” - endosQ Practice Manager Kerri Jewel
- “Great event – the perfect length and incredibly informative,” - Clements Medical Practice Administration Ellie Gray
- Laura was easy to learn from, and her passion for what she does shows through and is contagious.” - Balgal Beach Medical Practice Manager Georgia Baker.
Now equipped with the knowledge, skills, tools, and resources made available during and after the presentation, participating primary care providers have the edge to explore new business and funding opportunities that ultimately improve the services provided to patients to receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
