National Cancer Screening Register portal for healthcare providers

Published 29 January 2021

The National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR) has released a portal for healthcare providers to allow access to information about participant screening.

news

The portal enables:

  • health care providers to manage their patient’s participation in the National Cervical Screening Program (NCSP) and National Bowel Cancer Screening Program (NBCSP), including opting out and deferring their screening
  • health care providers to access screening information for participants of both programs (including those who have been invited to participate but have not done so yet)
  • general practitioners and other specialists to lodge clinical forms relating to both programs electronically.

A Clinical Information System software integration is also being released with the NCSR Healthcare Providers portal to allow health care professionals using Best Practice and MedicalDirector to report clinical data seamlessly from their existing software interface using electronic forms. The software integration will also enable access to a patient’s screening results and histories for cervical and bowel screening, and to request Bowel Program Test Kits for eligible participants. The introduction of software integration will further streamline reporting and help to improve data quality for the two programs.
