General practices, Aboriginal Medical Services (AMSs), and their teams from across North Queensland are invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in a codesign workshop to develop the new Primary Care Build Back Better program.
The Primary Care Build Back Better program is being designed and developed to support northern Queensland general practices, AMSs, and their teams in change and reform readiness.
Northern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN), in partnership with Prestantia Health, will facilitate a 2.5-hour capacity and capability-building codesign workshop, which will guide the development of the Primary Care Build Back Better program to address the local needs of general practice and AMS services in the region.
Since March 2020, general practices and AMSs have changed how they deliver care. From conducting consultations remotely via telehealth and adopting new policies and procedures, to training and retraining staff.
The codesign workshop participants will be encouraged to share their insights and experiences to help shape support and skills required for future integrated, person-centred primary health care delivery.
The Primary Care Build Back Better program aims to build the capacity and capability of practices and AMS services for future success and sustainability by developing and strengthening the skills, abilities, processes, and resources needed to survive, adapt, and thrive in a changing environment.
Following a comprehensive codesign process, a suite of change and reform-readiness activities to support the program will be developed, covering:
- highly effective leadership
- practice sustainability
- data utilisation for optimal care
- data optimisation for Continuous Quality Improvement
- change management
- implementation of digital technologies.
We are seeking EOIs from health professionals in general practices and AMSs across the region to participate in the codesign workshop.
NQPHN and Prestantia Health welcome your voluntary contribution to the co-design of this program.
The codesign workshop will be held on Tuesday 15 August, from 6.30pm-9pm. Places are limited and you can register your interest here.
NQPHN Primary Care Build Back Better program
The NQPHN Primary Care Build Back Better program, codesigned, developed, and delivered in partnership with Prestantia, will in the coming years, sharpen reform and change readiness within North Queensland general practices and AMSs, providing opportunities to gain skills to support their teams through future challenges.
NQPHN recognises there is a need to implement and adopt budget and reform initiatives, and to be proactive in planning for change.
Being reform and change ready will equip general practices and AMSs with skills to handle the future of primary health care and learn from and contribute to the changing health care landscape.
The Primary Care Build Back Better program will be built into existing NQPHN-funded programs and is dedicated to:
- developing enhanced leadership skills and abilities to effectively manage reform
- delivering improved data capabilities and capacity for optimal care and practice population management
- building general practice sustainability
- developing change management skills and knowledge
- supporting the uptake and implementation of digital technologies.
