Given the breadth and geographic location of stakeholders across the Townsville and Mackay HHS regions, there is a need for a structured approach to the implementation of community-based suicide prevention initiatives and activities.
Since 2018, NQPHN has funded community-based suicide prevention activities through the development and implementation of Suicide Prevention Community Actions Plans (SPCAPs). NQPHN remains committed to this important work and to the funding of agencies to support this work.
Aligned with NQPHN commissioning processes and plans, NQPHN has recently reviewed investment in SPCAPs utilising a Resource Allocation Model, with a focus on fair distribution across the NQPHN catchment and ensuring equity for regional and rural communities.
Accordingly, NQPHN has determined the need to undertake an open tender process for the Townsville (inclusive of Burdekin) and Mackay regions for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 financial years.
This RFT open-market approach is designed to seek submissions for the provision of whole-of-population access to community-led suicide prevention initiatives that will be delivered using a collective impact approach in the Townsville and Mackay HHS regions.
Agencies will have the capability and capacity to support collective impact work, provide a backbone function that is independent, and facilitate rural and remote initiatives.
While the procurement process is undertaken, NQPHN will continue to support the current agencies and the SPCAP committees to maintain work already under way.
NQPHN encourages potential applicants to consider a consortia approach should they only be able to deliver in one Local Government Area (LGA) of the Townsville and/or Mackay HHS regions.
Organisations wanting to submit a tender application can visit NQPHN’s online procurement portal here.
The RFT closes 2 May 2023 at 2pm (AEST).
